Picture It & Write

Again the people over at Ermilia’s blog have posted another Picture It & Write article. For those who don’t know what this is, they post a picture and then write a brief story about the image. They then ask for you to join in, your can either carry on their story or write your own. You can also do poetry and even something in another language (providing there is a translation posted along with it). I encourage everyone to give it a go because it helps get the “creative juices” flowing. My entry is below the image.

Come With Me – Complete First Draft

I have finally finished the short story I have been working on and strangely I managed to finish dot on 4,000 words aha.

I have attached the file for those of you who would like to read the full thing, I know a few people would like to know what happens to Eric in the end, so this is for you. And anyone else who stumbles across it for that matter, I hope you enjoy my writing and if you have feedback I would leave to hear it.

*Update* I have recently made some revisions to the story and have uploaded the newer story, it is no longer 4,000 words exactly.

Chat Room Excerpt

I have finally got round to writing more of my 4000 word short story, and I am uploading an excerpt of part of the story in which my main character Josh is talking to someone in a chat room. His screen name is Houdini, this is because obviously Houdini was an escape artist and Josh uses these chat rooms as an escape from his reality. Please find it below, and enjoy!

Lost and alone it was there I sat, on that wall, in front of that house. And what a choice that was! He came outside to me, and I chased him away numerous times but he always came back. I loved him so much and I miss him dearly now.

Cheese was the goal. Without cheese there was no hope. The Dangerous Cheese Excursion of ’11. I left equipped for outside, I normally do well at avoiding traps. Not today. So now here I lie, in pain, but the jokes on them. I got the bloody little piece of cheese.

Less Talky More Shooty

Now I have more time on my hands I can focus more on my other blog Less Talky More Shooty.

For those who missed my original post in July about it, it is the location of all my gaming reviews and articles that used to here. I am opening the doors though for this blog and I want to get a decent sized group of like minded people to write on there. So far I have two people who are interested and if you have, or know any one who has, a love of writing and/or games who wants to be part of this blog then feel free to get in touch through the contact page at the top. You need a wordpress account to be able to become a user on the blog.

If you contact me include the url for your blog so I can check out your stuff, because obviously to make it looks nice and professional the quality of the writing has to be consistent, and good obviously.

In other news, when I get the time I am going to do a little research into writing for commission and set up my own cheap rates and try and spread the word about myself, it will help me earn a little money on the side if at all possible.

This might include some basic photoshop work and like card designs maybe, probably not but if I can see how it could work I think that will be an option, even if not straight away.

Harry Potter MMORPG?

Recently I have been getting back into World of Warcraft, had rekindled my love for RPG’s (role-playing games). I recently bought Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which I really like, although I seem to suck at it at the moment. Call of Duty has made me think left trigger is aim down sights, whereas in DE-HR it puts you into cover, sticking you to the nearest effing wall, even if the enemies you were attacking can still see you there.

But anyway yeah, back on track, I have been really keen on RPG’s recently and with Harry Potter now having come to end with the books having been long since complete and the movies more recently being complete, it needs something new.
